We have had a ton of slugs and also grubs (or possibly they're white translucent caterpillars). Don't know if it's the time of year, or the wet weather. But one morning they were clustered around the kitchen door, which was sort of gross.
The cats don't go out, so no. The grubs are a great low-fat protein source, if you have the stomach for it (I do not). They were big in Paleolithic times, as well as in many cultures today, though seemingly not ours.

Do your cats go after them? They look so succulent. Bet they have that slimy okra feel.
