I thought, not an owl. But that one photo sure look like it (...45, the Adult Little owl). Just make it younger, and a little wrangly from the rain. Virginia knows her birds.
Well, I got a hold of the photographer. He said, "Thanks for the kind words. That was a very wet Little Owl. The wet feathers made the little thing look like an evil Disney character."

It might be a buzzard. It's hard to tell how big it is from this photo. It does look like a juvenile, doesn't it.
A scruffy juvenile! But one who will become beautiful or handsome in her/his time.

No way ... that was nice of you!
So, it's an owl. I never would have thought. It really is a great photo.
I wouldn't say it was nice of me, exactly. I couldn't let it go. It kept bugging me.
