Music: Van Morrison's "Into The Mystic," Studio Vs. Live

Morrison (from Belfast) wrote "Into The Mystic" in 1969. It was included in his "Moondance" album. Allmusic described it as "a song of such elemental beauty and grace as to stand as arguably the quintessential Morrison moment." It is one of Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

Here's the studio version:

I only ever knew his songs from albums. Thanks to YouTube I've been introduced to his live performances. Just unbelievable. How he pours his whole body, all the cells of his body and mind and soul into his sound.

I've been reading about Morrison. I think, also reading Cain's book, that he's a strong introvert. People say he's cantankerous and distant and shy and fault him for that. I think that is the temperament he was born with. We try to make him something he's not, and when he's not, we blame him. He wouldn't be as soulful.
