Protein And The Kidneys

I am genuinely curious if low-carb proponents advise a high-protein diet for renal insufficiency.

In our practice, most people with diabetes had renal complications.

I agree that too little protein is unhealthy. I was curious why people with diabetes or compromised kidneys wouldn't need to watch their phosphorus and nitrogen? I saw some MDs recommending this. I don't know.
