They cook so fast, and you don't have to soak them. But I never know what to make with them.
They do cook fast. I like them with kale&onions.Lentils:I add diced tomatoes and onions to the lentils after they've cooked for a bit. Season with salt, cumin, and a touch of turmeric. They're very orange then.Kale&onions:I cook chopped kale in boiling water for about 5 minutes or just to soften. Sauté some onions, add the kale, salt and a hit of tamari.
Tree, I thought you had a mouthful of carrots there :)
I also add them to the tomato sauce that I make for the pasta ( it lessens the tomatoiness ) and i also add a touch of heaven in them - baked garlic :)
I do that too ... add to tomato sauce. It makes it so creamy and as you said less tomato-y.
